We offer pairs of motor brushes for the following discontinued models:

  • 1/8 HP Series SR, SRM, and SRB motors (not the current 1/6HP models), 115V and 230V.
  • 1/8HP Series S, SM, and SB motors, 115V and 230V.
  • 1/4 HP Series H, HM, and HB motors, 115V and 230V.
  • Series K motors, 115V and 230V.
Remember to check the brushes periodically for wear. Replace them when they wear down to 1/4″ from their original 5/8″ length. Always replace both brushes, even if one is less worn.

About motor brushes:
  • Foredom electric motors use a single set of brushes, one on each side of the motor case.
  • Brushes are housed in brush holders made of copper or brass tubes encased in plastic.
  • A brush comprises compressed graphite for low resistance and long life.
  • A flexible copper pigtail with a coil spring maintains brush pressure on the commutator.
  • Replace brushes to ensure proper functioning and longevity of your motor.
